BAM, SAM and MAM…
This year, I am excited to be involved in bringing more artistic energy to the town of Swellendam. From the 13th to the 16th of December 2019 I will be opening my art studio and home to the public. Together with a number of other diverse talents #SAM will create an art route that people can explore and get to know the town and locals a bit better.
#SwellendamArtMeander (SAM) is a collaborative project between artists and venues in Swellendam, #MontaguArtMeander (MAM) artists in Montagu and #BarrydaleArtMeander (BAM) artists in Barrydale,
The idea of Open Art Studios has been, for some time, piloted in Barrydale over the December period annually including Magpie Art Collectives Christmas tree and a street parade. This year, Shane from Magpie and #BarrydaleArtMeander, #BAM, decided to include surrounding towns Montagu #MAM, Suurbraak #XAM and Swellendam #SAM.
The #OpenArtStudios concept will inaugurate from December 13-16 in each locale, with each Art Meander offering it’s own flavour of experience.
It is a unique opportunity to visit artists in their own homes and studios. Maps will be available on Facebook as a downloadable PDF or you can pick one up at any of the venues.
