The sculpture park in Mozambique Valley...

May 16, 2017

The Mozambique Valley Project (MVP) is a work in progress. The vision: to create an environmental sculpture park for all to enjoy.

After spending months making pathways and steps, clearing alien invasive species and planting indigenous trees, clearing rubbish and getting the place into better shape, we are now starting to play with natural materials to create sculptures and creative features.

A friend named my ladder installation the stairway to heaven...

The first clearing we made features some totem pole/obelisks and the first archways as the path into the woods begins.

The textures, shapes, tones and patterns of nature inspire imperfect, simple beauty.

As the living arches continue to grow we will see what unfolds - a ongoing process of change.

The valley is open to all and will hopefully become a rich open-air gallery where people can connect with nature and their own creativity.

In time I'd like MVP to invite visiting sculptors and artists to contribute works so that this space can become an inspiring and educational resource.

Watch this space...Mozambique Valley Project :)
